About
A Family Collection since 1985
A.B Botanicals grew out of my father's cactus collection. Today it is a small nursery for rare agave, Euphorbia, Pachypodium and caudex plants, run by me, Abu Bkar Mughal (A.B).
How It Started
My father, Hafiz Qasim, started collecting cactus and Euphorbia in 1985. He grew them for the love of it and never sold a plant.
I joined his hobby in 2014. Over time I moved into agave and pachycaul plants, the ones with thick trunks and swollen stems. I taught myself, from growing to running a business.
In 2016 I started selling plants to other collectors. In December 2019 our first import shipment arrived, and since then I have visited supplier farms in Thailand, Singapore, the UAE, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka and China.

Today
Two farms and our own variegated agave breeding.
What We Do Today
The agave farm is where we breed. We cross our best variegated agaves, grow the seedlings on, and keep the ones that hold their colour. These become our A.B Originals.
The second farm holds our caudex plants, cactus and Euphorbia.
Most of our imports come from growers we know personally in Thailand.
How We Work with Collectors
We send photos or a video of the exact plant before you pay, so you know what will arrive.
Plants are packed by hand and sent by Leopards Courier every Monday and Thursday.
After delivery we stay on WhatsApp for care questions, especially through the monsoon, when agaves need the least water.
